One of Those Beautiful September Days...
Share
It’s mid-September, and autumn is just around the corner. But this beautiful day seemed determined to remind us that summer hasn’t quite given up yet.
The sky was blue, the sun was shining, and everything around us was still wonderfully green. It was one of those days when staying at home simply didn’t make much sense.
So Hugo and I went for a long walk.

We live in the countryside, so our walks can take us from little wooded paths to open fields, meadows and wide views across the landscape. On a day like this, there is no reason to hurry.

I spend much of my working day at home designing, crocheting and working on Mrozci. Long walks with Hugo are a completely different part of the day — time outside, plenty of space, fresh air and a change of pace.
September always feels a little in-between. Autumn is getting closer, but on days like this the landscape still looks almost summery. The trees are green, the fields are bright, and for a few hours it is easy to forget that a new season is nearly here.

There are always small things to notice along the way, too. Familiar views, old objects in the landscape and quiet corners that become part of a route simply because you pass them again and again.

And then we met the horses.
Hugo was curious about them, and the horses seemed equally curious about Hugo.

The beautiful weather clearly wasn’t being enjoyed by us alone. Hugo was having a wonderful day, and the horses looked perfectly happy spending theirs outside too.

Eventually, it was time for a little rest before continuing home.

Autumn will arrive soon enough. The colors will change, the days will become shorter and these bright green fields will begin to look very different.
But for now, September gave us one more beautiful, almost summery day.
And we made the most of it.
